Ahi, or Yellowfin tuna, is caught in subtropical regions worldwide, but most of our selectively sourced product comes out of Hawaii and Fiji due to global sustainability concerns with this species. West Coast and Pacific Islands fisheries management has been relatively successful in implementing sustainable fishing standards, but international cooperation is critical to ensure the Yellowfin’s abundance because of its highly migratory behavior. It will be important to support fisheries with strict regulations in order to grow the demand for responsibly caught fish.
